Established in 1960, Cystic Fibrosis Canada is one of Canada’s leading charitable organizations driven to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). As an industry leader in CF research, clinical care and innovation, Cystic Fibrosis Canada supports over 40 accredited CF clinics and serves over 4,300 CF patients in Canada.
THE PROBLEM
With developments in CF research, Cystic Fibrosis Canada realized this growth and it became apparent that Cystic Fibrosis Canada needed to transform its patient registry. Accelerated clinical practice, patient outcomes, and research effectiveness were all required to maintain growing CF research demands. Cystic Fibrosis Canada needed to restructure their Microsoft Access-based patient registry and pivot to a cloud-based solution to drive improvements in clinical operations across care sites and maximize care efficiency while strengthening patient and clinician relationships.
THE SOLUTION
Dramatically streamlining the patient intake process, scaling up the patient registry and empowering patients to manage their own data.
After the deployment of Naryants health platform, Cystic Fibrosis Canada has managed to streamline the patient intake process by up to 50%, improving diagnostic interoperability while enabling precision treatment delivery. Over time, it was determined that Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s existing patient registry could be scaled-up. After strategic consultation and collaborative sessions, there has been a focus to build capabilities to support quality improvement (QI) initiatives to drive better CF care outcomes. Additionally, an accompanying Patient Portal has been launched to optimize patient engagement, and empower patients to manage their own data.

THE RESULTS
A highly configurable and flexible registry with advanced features.
Naryant partnered with Cystic Fibrosis Canada to develop a usable, comprehensive patient registry and data collection solution with its health platform. This new patient registry is used for the collection and analysis of longitudinal demographic, clinical and epidemiological information of individuals with cystic fibrosis across Canada. Highly configurable and flexible, the new registry incorporates sophisticated form designs, simple and complex edit checking, conditional logic for incorporating simple or complex skip patterns, dynamic form activation, and other advanced features.
